Wyndham Clark reflects on his performance at the Paris Olympics
Wyndham Clark on his performance at the Paris Olympics: “I don’t think anyone is better at golf than me, except Scottie Scheffler”
Wyndham Clark has advanced to the second stage of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. He will compete in the 2024 BMW Championship at Castle Pines Golf Club in Colorado. Clark comes into the tournament on the strength of a seventh-place finish at the FedEx St. Jude Championship and a 14th-place finish in the golf competition at the 2024 Paris Olympics. His participation in the Olympics raised eyebrows as some fans and media members believed he was not the best choice to represent Team USA. But Clark defied all odds to produce an acceptable result at the event. He scored -11 for the event despite a score of 75 on the first day. The result gave him confidence and put an end to the speculation and criticism he had received before the event began.
“It really gave me confidence because I knew the media had been talking a lot about me coming in and my poor performance and everything else. I just wanted to prove to myself and my country that I’m a top American athlete,” Clark told media at the 2024 BMW Championship. “I played some great golf, I don’t think anybody played better golf than me the last three days, except maybe Scotty. “I collapsed in the first round,” the American golfer continued. Wyndham Clark believes his game is moving in the right direction and that he is picking up the pace at the right time. “Then I had four really solid rounds of golf last week and I feel like my game is developing in the right direction at the right time,” he said.
