Ashley Perez is in the process of divorcing husband Pat Perez – but he’s not the only pro golfer that the influencer has had qualms with over the years

Pat Perez’s wife, Ashley, last year admitted that she would love to see professional golfer Rory McIlroy get “punched in the face”.

The social media influencer is currently in the process of separating from her LIV Golf-starring husband, after reports suggest that she had filed for divorce in November. But the 48-year-old isn’t the only athlete that Ashley has had issues with over the coming months – explaining how she would love to see someone strike McIlroy back in 2023.

The brutal barrage came after Team Europe clinched the Ryder Cup from their American rivals last September – with the Northern Irishman at the helm alongside John Rahm, Viktor Hovland and Tommy Fleetwood. The contest wasn’t without its controversy, however, with McIlroy was seen shouting at caddie Joe LaCava in the car park – building a fire in Ashley who unleashed it via Instagram in the form of a post condemning the golfer’s actions.

The 34-year-old wrote: “I can’t possibly be the only one that would absolutely love to watch Rory get punched in the face. And I mean that in the nicest possible way… kinda.” Pat’s first marriage ended in divorce before he met Ashley at a dinner in Las Vegas. They would end up marrying in 2014 and would go on to have two children together

While their divorce is still working its way through the system, it appears as though the pair will legally part ways with one another. And it’s not the only setback that Perez is suffering this year, sitting on the verge of being cut from the LIV Golf promotion.

First signing with the Saudi-backed league in 2022, Perez put pen to paper on a reported $10million (£7.9million) deal. And while he would taste success in his initial year with the league, clinching the inaugural LIV team championship as well as the 4Aces, he currently finds himself in 47th position in the league table.

Flirting with relegation with just four games left to play, the Phoenix, Arizona native’s best performance this year came in the form of a T-14 finish in Nashville last week. He could still find solace in his upcoming games in Andalucia, the UK, Greenbrier and Chicago, but on just 7.76 points overall, he’s got some climbing to do if he wants to retain a place within the promotion for 2025.

Players who post between 49 and below will be dropped from the series, with only Harold Varner III and Laurie Canter separating Perez from safety and sorrow at the time of writing. Perez’s place in the competition will be confirmed in the coming months.
