Simone Biles attended the Chicago Bears’ preseason game on Saturday, but she made a big mistake.
Biles was at the game to support her husband Jonathan Owens, who signed a two-year deal with Chicago over the offseason. This will be Owens’ first season with the Bears after he spent the 2023 season with one of the team’s NFC North rivals, the Green Bay Packers.
Biles needs to update her wardrobe accordingly.
The Olympics star was wearing a customized jacket in support of Owens, but the jacket featured a Packers logo.
Biles may have overlooked that detail since she was wearing a custom jacket that mostly showcased her husband. But that’s not something the fans will miss.
The rivalry between the Bears and Packers is so strong that something like that won’t fly. Hopefully Biles will use the preseason as a learning moment to and get her fashion choices ready for Week 1 when it really counts.
Owens was credited with four tackles during Saturday’s game.

Detroit Lions appear to have found a secret weaponDec 3, 2023; New Orleans, Louisiana, USA; Detailed view of the Detroit Lions helmet during warmups before the game against the New Orleans Saints at Caesars Superdome. Mandatory Credit: Stephen Lew-USA TODAY Sports
The Detroit Lions appear to have found a secret weapon and made the most of a bad situation.
Detroit suffered a bad injury blow in July when kicker Michael Badgley suffered a torn hamstring that ended his season. They may be in good shape despite that.
The team has signed kicker Jake Bates, who had a standout performance during the team’s 24-23 win over the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. on Saturday.
Bates went 4/4 on field goals in the game. He made a 55-yard kick and also the winning kick from 43 yards out. Bates did miss an extra point though.
Bates comes to the Lions with an excellent reputation he built up in the UFL. There, Bates went 6/10 on field goals of 50-plus yards and also made a 64-yarder.
Maybe field goal kicking will be a strength for the Lions this season despite the Badgley injury, though of course the team would love to focus on scoring touchdowns rather than kicking field goals.
Noah Lyles has stern message for Tyreek HillAug 4, 2024; Paris Saint-Denis, France; Noah Lyles (USA) reacts after competing in a men’s 100m semifinal during the Paris 2024 Olympic Summer Games at Stade de France. Mandatory Credit: Yukihito Taguchi-USA TODAY Sports
US Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles wants all the smoke that Tyreek Hill is willing to blow his way.
Earlier this week, the Miami Dolphins wide receiver called Lyles out for allegedly “pretending” to have COVID before the latter’s bronze medal finish in the Olympic 200m men’s race. Hill also claimed that he would beat Lyles in a race.
On Saturday, Lyles addressed the drama with Hill on the “Nightcap” podcast with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson.
Lyles called Hill a clout chaser who wasn’t serious about actually setting up a race. But Lyles wasn’t opposed to actually lacing up his sneakers for a head-to-head competition if Hill actually wanted to do it.
“We can race,” said Lyles. “If he’s serious about it, if he’s truly serious about it, and I’m not talking about you just talking on the internet and you’re not actually talking to me and my agent to set something up, if you’re serious about it, you’ll see me on track.”
Lyles also compared Hill to Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf, who actually made a bid to become an Olympic sprinter a few years ago.
Given that the start of the 2024 NFL campaign is fast approaching, it’s hard to imagine Hill diverting his focus from the Dolphins’ looming season.
But perhaps if Hill took Lyles’ recent shade personally, the All-Pro wideout might at least consider it.
