Tiger Woods has relinquished his captain’s armband for the American team at the 2025 Ryder Cup…

Exclusive: The U.S. captain’s position for the tournament will be announced Tuesday, with Stewart Sink, Davis Love III and Fred Parse vying for the role.

Tiger Woods has reportedly turned down the opportunity to captain Team USA at next year’s Ryder Cup. The PGA of America is scheduled to announce the appointments of Stewart Cink, Fred Couples and Davis Love III on Tuesday in New York.

Two months ago, the 48-year-old expressed doubts about his ability to succeed Zach Johnson, citing his longtime involvement in peace talks with Saudi Arabia, which has funded the PGA Tour and LIV.

It is understood that Woods was prepared to take on the role if the PGA of America – which oversees the US arm of the biennial dust-up – reduced the normal captaincy commitments ahead of the match. But no deal was evidently reached and with the clock ticking, they were forced to look elsewhere. Europe has confirmed that Luke Donald will be the second term last December.

The 2009 open champion, CINK, is the most obvious alternative, but it is a big name to use the support of what we expected in a match between Manhattan, just 15 minutes. You may have gone to another place for what you think, and become a noisy crowd.
