Tiger Woods stuns young golfer with special congratulations after 16-year-old repeats historic feat
Woods has missed the final rounds of the Open Championship, US Open and PGA Championship. But he has recently gone out of his way to encourage the next generation of golfers and has been praised by fans for his generosity. Woods, 48, took a photo with Blades Brown, a 16-year-old who is one of the sport’s most promising young golfers. “Great photo!” Woods took the cool photo with Blades after watching his son, Charlie, compete. Charlie shot 80 and 82 but missed the cut. Woods announced last week that he would be taking some time away from the PGA Tour after a disastrous performance at the Open. He shot an 8-over 79 in the first round before an equally disappointing second round and finished 14 over par. The 15-time major winner missed the cut in his third consecutive major for the first time in a decade. After that setback, Woods confirmed his immediate plans were to improve his game, although he won’t be doing so. “I won’t play until December,” he said. “I’m going to continue to get better physically and work on it, and then hopefully come back for our fifth major.” But Woods continues to promote the sport by looking at his son while taking a photo with another rising young golfer. “Does Blades know he’s standing next to one of the greatest players of all time?” one fan posted.
