Tiger Woods’ photos show the horrific injuries from his near-fatal accident for the first time.

Tiger Woods attended the 76th U.S. Junior Amateur Championship to cheer on his son.
The aftermath of Tiger Woods’ horrific car accident was made starkly clear as the golf legend was spotted cheering on his teenage son at the U.S. Junior Championship.
Woods was there to cheer on Charlie, who shot 82 to finish 12-over-par at Oakland Hills on Monday. While Woods appeared to be enjoying the action after announcing a five-month break from the sport, all eyes were on the visible damage to his legs.
The scars were visible and his right leg appeared to have taken the brunt of the injury from the near-fatal fall he suffered in California. In February 2021, Woods suffered multiple open fractures to his tibia and fibula, coupled with nasty injuries to his foot and ankle.
At the time of the horrific incident, Tiger was already navigating pain, as he was in recovery from a prior back surgery. Around 7 a.m. that morning, his SUV went off the road, hit a tree and somersaulted several times. He is believed to have crashed at 85 mph. Firefighters and paramedics extricated Woods from the rubble and took him directly to the hospital for immediate medical attention. Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said at the time that “the primary causes of this traffic accident were driving at an unsafe speed for road conditions and failure to negotiate a curve in the road.” »
The golf legend went from wheelchair to crutches, and fans were awed by his ability to still swing a club at a professional level. At 48, he openly battles pain to stay in the game, and the visible scars bear witness to his surgical battles.
Woods appears to be in the twilight of his illustrious career, missing three of his four majors this season and only making an impact at the Masters, where he finished 60th. He can now be seen increasingly encouraging his son from the sidelines, despite tournament rules not allowing him to coach during matches.
But Woods can’t hide his fatherly pride and concern, and was spotted murmuring encouraging words to his 15-year-old son Charlie as he took lessons. Charlie is striving to emulate his father’s success, and Woods can’t help but be pleased with his progress.
“His speed has increased a lot this year,” Tiger said at the end of 2023. “He’s already surpassed me. I love being his caddie and being with him and just talking to him about the pictures and letting him know what I’m going to see or…what my thought process is. He would bounce things off of me, and (I would) give him my take on certain things.”
