Such a dumb-ass: Tiger Woods slams Bryson DeChambeau calls him an ‘absolute joke’

Tiger Woods’ former swing coach Hank Haney has been left unimpressed by the United States’ decision to not include U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau in its four-man Olympics team

The decision to snub U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau to represent the United States at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games has been slammed by Tiger Woods’ ex-coach Hank Haney.

DeChambeau’s strong major form wasn’t enough to force his way into a four-player American squad made up entirely of PGA Tour players. The reigning Olympic gold medalist, Xander Schauffele, is joined by golf world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Collin Morikawa, and Wyndham Clark.

DeChambeau has admitted that the Olympics snub has left him disappointed as he wanted to represent his country at the major competition. “I would love to represent the United States,” he said on ESPN.

“It was tough for me not to go last time around ‘cos of Covid and it’s just one of those things that happened. Hopefully one day this game of golf will get figured out and come back together, and I’ll be able to play.

“I’m playing great golf, I’m excited. [So] yeah… am I frustrated and disappointed? Sure, you can absolutely say that. But I made the choices that I made and there’s consequences to that and I respect it. Hopefully sooner rather than later we figure that out so in this great game of golf we can get past all that and move forward into showing how awesome this sport really is around the globe.”

DeChambeau’s 2024 U.S. Open runner-up Rory McIlroy will be heading to Paris, though, fresh off the back of his disappointment at Pinehurst No. 2. McIlroy blew a golden opportunity to end his decade-long major drought at the weekend, with his putting game letting his down. Alongside McIlroy, Shane Lowry will represent Ireland.
