PGA Tour Champions Issues Major Tiger Woods Announcement
At his peak, it felt like Tiger Woods could compete on the PGA Tour forever.
Now at age 48 and dealing with the lasting effects of multiple brutal injuries, Woods seemingly can’t wait to play on the men’s professional senior tour. The 15-time major winner hinted as early as 2021 at the Hero World Challenge that he had only “four more years” until being able to use a cart – an option given to Champions Tour players at most non-major events.
There are now less than 18 months until Tiger becomes eligible to play PGA Tour Champions events, and tour President Miller Brady is already laying out the framework for Woods’ eventual debut.
According to Golfweek, Brady recently reached out to Tiger’s agent, Mark Steinberg, to “educate him on how things work on that tour.”
Tiger, currently 48, will turn 50 on Dec. 30, 2025.
There’s still a long time between now and then, however, Brady has already envisioned the “ideal” debut for Woods.
“In an ideal situation, Tiger turns 50 and the Mitsubishi Electric (in January 2026) is his first start,” Brady said, via Golfweek.
“Maybe you pair him with Fred Couples and they have a great time.”
