Jordan Spieeth calls on Liv Golf and PGA Tour negotiations
Jordan Sleeps has confirmed that the negotiations between the PGA Tour and the Saudi State Investment Fund (PIF), which supports Liv Golf, is “very active”.
Speaking of the priority of the classic John Deere, Spieeth, who works at the PGA Tour Policy Council, offered limited information on current discussions, citing potential problems if he published too much information.
There are rumors that PGA Tour and Pif have already agreed with a commercial transaction, but there was no official announcement. This anticipated deal could unify professional golf and potentially bring LIV Golf players back to the PGA Tour.
When asked about the status of these negotiations and the possibility of LIV Golf players returning to the PGA Tour, Spieth remained cautious. “It’s a very busy question that I have a lot of problems in the answer,” he said. “This kind takes a little time, but it’s very active. That’s all I can do for you.”
When pressed further on whether he wanted a quick resolution, Spieth emphasized the importance of a thorough process.
“I want it done right for everybody. Time is time, and if you can do something right and faster, that’s great. But rather, I would like to see that it was done correctly, no matter how long the golf took, the longest time was done to go in the future. ”
Currently, all PGA tour members, including Jon Rahm, Cameron Smith, Brooks Koepka, Bryson Dechambeau, are still suspended from the PGA tour. However, this could change in the near future depending on the results of these negotiations.
Spieth is preparing for John Deere Classic, a particularly important tournament. He won the first PGA tour title again at this event at this event in 2013. As the only player who won John’s classic three times, he sleeps on the participation of Steve Striker and Jesus Webening. Spieth is preparing for the tournament and remains at 25/1 odds to win despite not winning on the PGA Tour since the RBC Heritage in April 2022. Defending champion Sepp Straka won last year’s tournament by two strokes and expressed a lack of enthusiasm for “small tournaments” ahead of his title defence. As the John Deere Classic continues and negotiations between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf continue, the golf world is keeping a close eye on developments that could change the professional game.
