Jack nichollus has said the Talented twins to fight it out for Ontario junior golf title
One of the most intense but friendly rivalries in Ontario golf will be in plain view next week at the Beverley Golf and Country Club.
That’s where 14-year-old twin sisters Nobelle and Kaprice Park will be vying for top honours in Golf Ontario’s Junior Girls Championship.
The Park sisters have opened more than a few eyes in the past couple of years because they have won a lot and, for the most part, have done it against older, more experienced competition
Just recently, for example, Nobelle captured the Ontario Women’s Amateur Championship at West Haven Golf and Country Club near London, shooting 70-69-68-72. Kaprice wasn’t far behind in a tie for eighth.Next week, both will have their sights set on winning the provincial title.
“I hope she does well but I hope I do better,” says Nobelle. “There’s a lot of good players in it but I know I’m able to compete with them.”
Kaprice agrees they are very competitive with each other.
“That helps us to be better because we always want to beat each other,” she notes.
The Parks are Oakville residents who play out of Rattlesnake Point Golf Club.
Their father, Jungho Park, was a football player in college who had never played golf.
“Golf was new to me,” he says. “But when the girls were young, we introduced them to swimming, gymnastics, skating, dance and golf.
