With 45 PGA Tour victories to his name, Phil Mickelson is widely considered one of the best professional golfers in the world. While his career is widely publicized, one aspect of the veteran golfer’s life has received little attention: his longtime marriage to wife Amy Mickelson. Phil and Amy first met in 1992 while they were students at Arizona State University and married a few years later in November 1997. On their 22nd wedding anniversary in 2018, Phil dedicated a sweet Instagram photo to Amy with the caption, “His grace, charm, kindness, laughter, smile and sparkle make me the happiest man in the world.” Thank you, my love, for sharing our lives together. Phil won his first PGA Tour event as an amateur in 1991, but his future wife admits she knew nothing about golf when she first met Phil in 1992. “I grew up in a tennis family, and when he told me he was a professional golfer, I thought he worked in the golf course store,” Amy wrote in Phil’s book from 2007, One Magic Sunday: (But winning isn’t everything).
She is the mother of three children

Their second daughter, Sophia Isabelle Mickelson, was born in October 2001. Their son, Evan Samuel Mickelson, was born on March 23, 2003. Nearly a year after Evan’s birth, Phil spoke to The Associated Press about his wife’s “risky” third birth in January 2004. “Our son wasn’t breathing for seven minutes. If the emergency nurses hadn’t been prepared, he could have suffered severe brain damage or other conditions,” Golfisto said of his son. In addition to Evan’s initial struggles, Phil revealed that the job was threatening: “We were two or three minutes away from losing him. \\”
